Job Description
Offstream is looking for a sharp, customer-oriented carbon markets professional to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of customers, guiding them through certification processes, managing their project timelines, and drawing on your deep familiarity with carbon markets to help them succeed. You'll need to quickly learn new crediting frameworks and standards as the market evolves, and bring a practitioner's eye to evaluating project quality and compliance risk.
What you will do
- Own the customer relationship for a portfolio of project developers - managing timelines, deliverables, and communications to keep projects on track through certification and crediting milestones
- Become a go-to resource on crediting and compliance standards for both customers and the internal team, rapidly getting up to speed on new frameworks as they emerge
- Review customer projects with a critical eye, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities based on your experience evaluating projects across the carbon ecosystem
- Provide direct support to customers on carbon compliance decisions, including participating in calls, reviewing submissions, and offering subject matter expertise as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline our processes and deliver value to customers more quickly
- Provide insights to help inform product strategy and improve customer experience
- Work with the engineering team to incorporate new standards and frameworks into the product, translating compliance requirements into clear product specs
What you will bring
(If you don't meet all of these requirements, you should still apply. We want to find high-slope individuals, so if you can quickly grow into this profile we'd love to hear from you)
- 3+ years of experience in the carbon markets, with prior work at a ratings agency, insurance company, carbon marketplace, broker, or registry. We're looking for someone who deeply understands how projects are evaluated, priced, and credentialed across the ecosystem
- Experience reviewing carbon projects from multiple vantage points (as a registry reviewer, in a due diligence or underwriting role, or as an intermediary such as a broker or marketplace), with strong intuition for where projects fall short and how to fix them
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer or client relationships in a technical context, keeping multiple workstreams organized and stakeholders aligned
- A track record of quickly learning new standards, frameworks, or regulatory requirements and applying them practically
- BS/MS in a relevant field or equivalent training + experience
- Passion for startups and working on a small team (aka rolling your sleeves up when the situation calls for it)
